FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you certified?

Yes, I am a Certified Permanent Makeup Artist.

What is the Eyebrows Microshading ( Powder Brows, Eyebrows Micropigmentation )?

Instead of creating hair strokes eyebrow like Microblading, this technique is natural shading a gradient effect from the beginning of the brow to the end starting from light and fading to dark, give your brow the sharp yet natural look.

Does EyebryPermanent Makeup hurt?

Everyone has a different level of sensitivity so 2 types of Topical Anesthetics are applied before and during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Some clients have compared the process to a scratching or threading sensation.

For brows, most people either do not feel anything at all, or say it feels like the brows are being tweezed. Lips can be a bit more tender as there are many blood vessels and nerve endings, but most people tolerate it just fine.

How long Eyebrows Permanent Makeup Lasts?

It will last as long as it’s maintained. How long brows lasts will vary on your skin type by how well your skin takes in pigment during the session and how dark you are willing to go depending on scenario. After a touch up, brows is expected to last from 1 to 3,5 years depending on the shade of choice you prefer, skin retention, time in the sun and daily skin routines (more exfoliating products, faster the fade).

How long Does Eyebrows Permanent Makeup Take To Heal?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. You will be provided with ointment to apply to the area for the next 5-7 days. You can expect slight redness around the brows for a few hours after the procedure, and slight swelling of the eyelids and lips for 24 hours. You will need to avoid swimming and steam rooms for the first 10 days.

During the first week, the color can look a shade or two darker than what it will heal to be. Some people experience some flaking or peeling of the surface pigment during the healing process.
Usually, it takes about a week to 14 days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. A good month should pass before I consider the process complete.

During the healing process, it’s normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why we have the touch up in place.

Is Touch Ups Required?

This is a 2 step process. In some cases, we need to see how our clients react to the pigment and review the healing process after the first procedure.
The First Session is used to build shape and gain symmetry. The Second Session is used to perfect the brows / lips and we can add density. This is a process and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result.
The FIRST TOUCH UP or Second Session is done within the first 1-3 months after the First Session.

What Can’t I do After The Eyebrows Microshading ( eyebrows permanent makeup )?

You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry for 12 days after your procedure – that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure; no picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattoo.

I Have Heard Some Clients Just Don’t Retain Pigment Even After A Few Visits. Could This Happen?

Yes, it does happen and yes it’s true!
A third appointment is often set up so the client has the opportunity to return and I get the chance to review the work and sort out any (if any) tweaks that might need to be done. Often times the clients cancel this apt as all is usually well, however there are the occasional few that may need one or two extra strokes to finish off the look. Some ladies skin may react to the trauma of the tattooing, and the skin may try to push out the foreign body of pigment by producing an extreme scab, so they eventually fall off taking all the pigment with it. There is a condition called Pigment Allergy (PPD Allergy, a condition known by dermatologists) or Auto Immune disease symptoms (the client may not even be aware of it). The skin would have over reacted and become super sensitive to the pigment and reject it at any cost.
